“COMMUNITY WATER, SANITATION AND HOPE FOR THE UNDERPRIVILEGED’’ abbreviated “ COWASAO” represented by MR. MBAKWA FIDELIS AKWENOH, President, in conformity with the provisions of law N° 90/053 of 19th December 1990. The conception of COWASAO came as far back as from 2010 and has been carrying out its activities before it's present date registration.

The Main Objectives of the Association are:

  • To promote the fight against water crisis and waterborne diseases in remote and rural communities by encouraging the population to adopt environmental-friendly practices so as to boost economic growth and sustainable development. Community water and Sanitation

  • To encourage access to safe drinking water and sanitation in local communities by carrying out outreach programs and activities in order to promote sustainable livelihood, knowledge, and techniques for increased environmental conservation and management.
  • To educate the local population on the need to protect the environment and better manage their natural resources so as to prevent the adverse effects of climate change and environmental pollution.
  • To contribute in the alleviation of poverty among underprivileged children, promote and encourage the education of the poor and needy by supporting them both materially and financially so as to meet up with their educational needs.
  • To advocate and promote human rights especially those of orphans, widows, and the marginalized in local communities and foster unity, development, and progress amongst them
